Pushkar, with a Tinge of Happiness!

pushkar-event-wedding1.jpg

It is not many times that I have been to Pushkar. Maybe just once actually, that too when I was very young and my parents took me there, and I hardly have any memory of that trip. After I grew up, I have always been inquisitive about that place. Though I have read about Pushkar a lot. Mostly that I have read about it is pilgrim-side. Pushkar is considered to be one of the holiest places in India. It is a famous Hindu-pilgrim site. The city Pushkar is basically all about the Pushkar Lake. The whole city circumvents the beautiful lake.

After reading such high words about the city, I finally got to visit it again with me being fully conscious and aware of everything. It was a family affair. My elder brother was getting married. It was his decision to get married anywhere but Delhi(where we live). Things worked accordingly and the bride and the groom chose the city Pushkar. The place where we were staying at was one of the finest luxury resorts in Pushkar, it was The Ananta Resort.

That was the same place where the wedding was supposed to take place. I was in complete with the way the whole staff was working with arrangements. We weren’t bothered about anything at all and the whole wedding happened in quite a festive way, without any hassles. Ananta Resort is surely one of the finest wedding venues in Pushkar. This visit to Pushkar was more than just a visit, it was about taking a whole piece of memory back home.

So Much of Magic in one City, Pushkar!

pushkar-events-weddings.jpg

Rajasthan is one interesting state of our country. Within one state, lie a good number of fabulous cities. Namely, Jaipur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Pushkar, Jaisalmer and many more. Whenever I get a long weekend, I have always chosen to travel. That is the best part of living in Delhi. That is, many holiday destinations are just a few hours away. And when I choose to travel, I preferably choose to glance at the beauty of Rajasthan. I have no clue how many times I have been there, I do continue to visit the state as many times as I want to.

This time, I chose to explore Pushkar. The other cities, I have had almost 2-3 visits. But for Pushkar, I had always been a little skeptical. Skeptical because apart from the famous Pushkar Mela and hundreds of temples. I have never been a big-time devotional person, but I certainly do not disrespect any sort of that thing. But I always wanted to see Pushkar. For accommodation, I got my room reservation at The Ananta Hotel. As I reached the hotel, it surely came out to be one of the best luxury resorts in Pushkar, with great rooms and fantastic facilities.

My exploration of Pushkar did not disappoint me at all. I found the Pushkar lake as one of the most serene places, where I could sit for hours in the evening and listen to all the chanting been done at the temples nearby.

On checking out, I saw the hotel was gearing up for a wedding. I was happy to see that I was at a hotel, which was not only a great accommodation but also a great wedding venue in Pushkar.

No Pushing was Required For a Pushkar Wedding!

So, it was my school friend’s wedding and I couldn’t stay calm. When did we grow up this much that one of us from the school gang was getting married! Time not only flies but flies at the speed of rocket I suppose.

She didn’t want a regular wedding. But she wanted the clichéd destination wedding. We all had a huge discussion and decided upon the place, Pushkar. It seemed perfect, as it is not that far away from Delhi. While looking up for resorts in Pushkar on the internet, the best five-star property that we found was the Ananta Hotel.

Finally, the D-day had come and we all were at the Ananta. I was already impressed with the luxury that this beautiful hotel had provided with its services. A single glance at this hotel makes your heart happy, especially because it is set upon the backdrop of the tropical hills of Rajasthan.

Overall, the wedding and all the events could not have gone better. The magnificent wedding lawns, the service, the staff, the food basically everything lived above our expectations.

The management took care of everything. It was like a huge bonus for us. For we just wanted a nice wedding. But what we got in return was a fabulous wedding without any hassle. It is without a doubt one of the best wedding destinations in Pushkar.

An Escapade to the Rose Garden of Rajasthan

Nestled in the Aravallis, I decided to travel to the beautiful city of Pushkar in November for about a week. From Delhi, we took a bus that stopped at this city and got off in search for hotels in Pushkar. We ended finding a lovely guest house in close proximity to the Pushkar lake and were thrilled by the location. Being right in the heart of the city, we headed to the lake in the evening and ended up enjoying a beautiful sunset after a very rewarding hike. We spent an hour uphill deciding what places we would like to explore in the coming days. We then went back to the guest house and the owner, who was a very sweet lady had a traditional Rajasthani meal prepared for us. We chatted over dinner and she told us about the local markets for shopping from small trinkets, to clothes, jootis, religious ‘moortis’ and more.

The next day we decided to go on a tour of the local markets and try out the traditional ‘laal maans’ this city is so known for in one of the famous Pushkar restaurants

On the third day, we set out to explore the camel fair, the top touristy thing to do. It was definitely an experience – there were so many stalls offering authentic delicacies, traditional handicrafts, camel rides, hot air balloon rides and local music. We booked ourselves a hot air balloon ride which amounted to Rs 3,500 and I must say the experience was one of a kind. The view of the city from high up in the air is a picture stored in my memory. I can without any hesitation say this was indeed the highlight of my trip.
